Rebecca & Rick – Rain & Sunshine

Monday, May 4th, 2009

Rebecca’s bridal portrait was an indicator for her wedding: it started with rain and ended with sunshine and a beautiful heavy-clouded sky.
Rebecca and Rick’s wedding at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden was no different. Right when Rebecca got ready to be walked down the aisle by her dad it started to pour down. Programs were used as umbrellas but everybody was amused and not much later the sun came through the clouds!
The gardens made for great pictures and an elegant vintage Rolls Royce too the couple away …

Katie’s Bridal at the Biltmore Estate

Monday, October 20th, 2008

Bridal portraits are always hard for me: I cannot post them until the wedding took place! Katie’s is no exception. Their wedding was last Saturday (stay tuned!) and I can post what was a gorgeous session at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC.

We went from the Lioncrest to the Gardens to the Main House, with many stops on the way. The whole estate is such a breathtaking place and now with the fall season and all the colored foilage it was at its best! Did you know that Frederick Law Olmsted, the landscape architect who created Biltmore Estate also did Manhattan’s Central Park?

Adrienne & Martin – Treadmills & Cigars

Saturday, October 18th, 2008

Adrienne and Martin’s engagement session was a so much fun, going from Freedom Park to the Westin Hotel and then to a spot where we could see the City skyline (and where it was freezing cold …).
When I met Adrienne again for her bridal portrait I almost didn’t recognize her she was so elegant!

Finally it was their wedding day and it was a special treat for me since there were so many Germans there!
It was a beautiful ceremony at the Great Aunt Stella Center with a remarkable movie kiss, followed by a fun reception at the Renaissance SouthPark. This place is a playground for taking great photos and even the gym with its treadmills served us well!

Maria: Machines and Fire Engines

Friday, October 17th, 2008

A new Dress Recycling Session. And this time we had amazing locations! Old machines, walls with a multitude of structures and colors.

While I photographed Maria in the street a firefighter watched us from the fire station’s balcony. I took the opportunity and asked him whether we could use one of the fire trucks as a prop. Sure!!
Every boy dreams of a fire engine. And every grown photographer dreams of using it as a prop … ;-)

Maria had no problems with the rather coolish weather—it couldn’t stop her from getting right into the fountain!
