Tara & Rajib – from Cell Phone photos to Grace Ormonde WeddingStyle

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

I am excited to tell you that Tara and Rajib have their wedding featured in the latest issue of Grace Ormonde WeddingStyle (fall/winter).

Andrena Douglass who invited David Mielcarek and me last year to come along and photograph their engagament session, did a marvelous job in documenting their beautiful wedding.

In an earlier post I wrote about my take on this engagement session as I photographed it with my cell phone.

Guys & colors

Sunday, March 11th, 2007

Color has been a recent topic, but it’s hot for the guys too! You’d say that the guys are banned to black & white—or all white maybe.

But that’s not true. Wear a colored shirt and everything is different. I found a great example at a wedding one of our colleague Chuck Arlund did: a bright red shirt! This look not only is extravagant, I like most that the groom really sticks out of the crowd: today HE is the star!

Guys!

Thursday, February 8th, 2007

Oh man! Especially for the groom the preparation time to a wedding can turn into “personal stress”. It’s just not your thing, everything is about the bride and many of the things that are so important to her, just aren’t your cup of tea.

Our tip: Be a man about it!
Think of what is important to you, what special things you would like to do on this day. And discuss it with your love. Most likely there are some things she will enjoy as well.

A nice habit we saw in the States, in England and in Ireland: the groom presents the man of honor and the groomsmen with some special gifts. Sometimes it’s a pocket watch, often it’s a flask, that needs to be “tested” right away ;-)

Hey, but don’t go over the top!

Go for colors!

Tuesday, February 6th, 2007

Color wedding dresses are nothing new. But now it looks like this trend is also coming to a lot of European countries.
Australia has been on the cutting-edge for years and top notch wedding magazines like Vogue Sposa and Sposa White show how exciting and outstanding colored bridal fashion can be.

Very elegant: a matching bouquet. The add-on Il Matrimonio perfetto to Vogue Sposa 1/2007 has a multi-page segment on beautiful unicolored bouquets.

In the end: it doesn’t always have to be white!
