Debbie & Collin – can you say “gorgeous”?

Tuesday, November 10th, 2009

“Countryside” was the plan. And it turned out amazing. Debbie and Collin not only are the sweetest couple, they are also absolutely gorgeous! The weather tried to compete by being a crystal clear fall day and every picture we got gave me the chills.

While I was checking the monitor on the back of my camera, it became clear to me what I wanted to do. This time I wanted to leave the images pretty much untouched. Some photographers seem to need heavy processing on all the photos they show. So for all those of you who always wanted to know whether the pictures I take look good without anything special done to them, here goes …

Ashley & Nick go South

Friday, October 16th, 2009

Gosh, these two are adorable! Ashley and Nick wanted something a bit more funky – voilà!
First we went to the South 21 cult Hamburger drive-in (yes, their Big Boy is a meal of its own!). After that we went where nobody goes. And that’s why we went. ;-)

The two were absolutely good with the cool and dreary weather – who cares! We got awesome pictures. Last, we rummaged some cute little shops finally got the shot in the storefront window that Critsey had envisioned for a long time now. Next we had lunch at the Penguin, another cult place! The fried pickles there are excellent, and Ashley and Nick are still talking of them. Yummy.

I am now officially Ashley and Nick’s fan and we can’t wait for their wedding in December. It’s unavoidable that we’ll be having a blast.

Amanda & Jeff are Square

Sunday, September 27th, 2009

Amanda and Jeff are a very cool and charming couple, and they like things a little special. And I have been waiting for a couple like them to finally do a style project I have been waiting for a long time to realize it: all black and white, all square!
Sometimes you only find out how much you love something (or somebody) when you don’t have it. And I love color! So to leave it out completely I had to get myself in a special state of mind … Ok, I cheated a bit. I just couldn’t not show you the color of Amanda’s hot red shoes!

NY: Helen & Andrew are HOT!

Tuesday, September 1st, 2009

This is one steaming hot couple! It was one of those sessions where the magic happens and the images shift up one gear!We can’t wait do shoot their wedding this weekend!
We started out Midtown and then went over to DUMBO where we came across the coolest little coffee bar. It was very eclectic, had pictures and stuff everywhere and such cool furniture.
DUMBO was the busiest we’ve ever seen it at night. There were crowds out sitting and enjoying the evening.

Sherry & Kevin – Night on Times Square

Sunday, July 12th, 2009

What is better than an Engagement Session? Two! We met Sherry and Kevin in NY for dinner and took the opportunity to get a few night shots on Times Square. This is a great place for photos and since the two are such a sweet couple how could one resist?
Their photos from their Engagement Session in Central Park and on Brooklyn Bridge rocked, and these will add in nicely to their NY theme.
We can’t wait for their wedding in Cancun this week!

Elaine & DJ – Charlotte Love!

Sunday, July 12th, 2009

These two were hot! The fire hydrant gives it away ;-) We are definitely excited about their wedding, it will be partly Greek (Elaine is Greek) and this promises fun, fun, fun!
I love the looks I get when I ask couples to walk down a shabby staircase and then love on each other, but the results are so worth it!!

Kelly & Chris and a pearly puppy

Friday, May 22nd, 2009

Kelly and Chris are one of these couples that immediately turn people’s heads. Cute and handsome! And they made it clear from the beginning that they love the more edgy stuff. Oh no! (JK!)

Critsey shot this session with me and we went to some cool spots downtown Charlotte. Kelly and Chris brought Daphne, their adorable dog and they even got her a pearl collar for the shoot! I think she felt extremely proud.

Kelly told us they would change into something more dressy for the second part of the session and the dress she wore was extremely cute. Plus yellow shoes that caught Critsey’s attention. She’s a shoe gal ;-)

Oh … and Chris dips like a champ for sure!

Their wedding is going to be at the beautiful Palmer Building and I am looking forward to photograph this event. It’s going to be a blast!

Kelli & Robbie – Go Conolly!

Friday, February 13th, 2009

Kelli & Robbie are getting married in California. But they live in the South and decided to have their engagement photos done in Charlotte, because it’s sooo much nicer here (JK!!). This Sunday was engagement session craze anyway (3 in a row …) so I was warmed up and ready.

These two are amazing! They turned every little spot in the Queen City into an ad-worthy location. And the light was just awesome—you couldn’t ask for any better.

Stopping in front of Conolly’s on 5th, an Irish pub was a must: Conolly is Robbie’s last name. I want a restaurant with my name too!!

Jessica & Seth – A Tux for every Dress

Tuesday, February 10th, 2009

What do you get if you put a hot looking couple, several awesome dresses, a tux and some great locations together? Well, see for yourself!

I do encourage couples to bring stuff for at least one change of clothes. For this session Jessica took it pretty seriously: she brought so many different dresses, shoes and jewelry that we had to engage one of the luggage trolleys! Seth said: “I have an outfit for each and every of her dresses” – and put on his tux … Go Seth!

Jessica’s mom was there to help with everything and we appointed her Chief Stylist. The couple was so sparkling and natural in front of the camera what a fun shoot!

Annabet & Jay – out on the Plantation

Friday, February 6th, 2009

Annabet visited me at our Bridal Showcase booth where she also told me that Jay really likes the outdoors. So we planned on an engagement shoot at one of the really amazing outdoors places, not much more than 25 minutes from Charlotte: The Historic Latta Plantation in Huntersville, NC. It is right by the Mountain Island Lake and definitely worth a visit!

When I got there I wanted to give Annabet a call and I didn’t trust my eyes when all the cell phone entries starting with “A” were gone ! Fortunately we ran into each other right after that, and we went taking photos right away.

It was chilly and windy but the two of them were brave. After all Annabet and Jay both love Triathlon—I take my hat off to that, it’s really nothing for the faint of heart and they are both in such great shape!

Last, we jumped some fences to get closer to the historic house and a beautiful old barn. We eventually got chased away since it was not yet opened for visitors, but it was all worth it!
