Katie’s Bridal at the Biltmore Estate

Monday, October 20th, 2008

Bridal portraits are always hard for me: I cannot post them until the wedding took place! Katie’s is no exception. Their wedding was last Saturday (stay tuned!) and I can post what was a gorgeous session at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC.

We went from the Lioncrest to the Gardens to the Main House, with many stops on the way. The whole estate is such a breathtaking place and now with the fall season and all the colored foilage it was at its best! Did you know that Frederick Law Olmsted, the landscape architect who created Biltmore Estate also did Manhattan’s Central Park?

Missy & Joe – Sippy Cups and other Drinks

Saturday, October 4th, 2008

It began with a bridal portrait at the Westin Hotel in Charlotte. Missy was so much fun and I knew the wedding would be just great! Her dress is absolutely stunning and we got tons of great pictures.
I was right and their wedding at the beautiful Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte it turned out to be a day full of energy, laughter and many kisses.

Missy had this cool sippy cup she got as a present and I wondered whether it would make it into the ceremony. (It didn’t …)
There were many more cups, ah, glasses involved and by the time we did the couple photos after the ceremony Missy and Joe were all for doing cool stuff. Gosh, can you take any bad pictures of such a handsome couple?
Missy could easily win the award for this year’s most laughing bride. And did I mention they kissed … a lot!

Lisa & David: What a Day!

Saturday, September 13th, 2008

When Lisa and David first told me about their plans for their big day I got excited right away!

So … mission accomplished! Their wedding turned out a day to remember. Not only are the two such amazing people and so in love—the reception at the Ballantyne Resort was just beautiful!

Their 5 (!) sons are so much fun, as parents so children. The hottest moment though was when Lisa and her girls changed into suits and top hats and surprised a blindfolded David with a hot dance!
(And this was not Lisa’s last change of clothes …)

Cutting the gorgeous cake by Decadent Designs was another fun event with David growing horns …
The band Summer Daze did a great job and kept the dance-floor burning. Even kids were flying! I love great bands!

Lisa & David—you rock!

Dora & Brent go GREEN

Saturday, August 30th, 2008

What do Dora, Brent, a rabbit, a hummingbird and I have in common? They all love Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden and had a blast at Dora and Brent’s wedding!

These two are just so cute and the first hours of married life gave Brent wings—as you can see! Their colorful cake was done by Elizabethan Delights—way cool how it looked plain white from the side but when you approached it you saw the colored tops!

We even dared to take pictures inside the new Orchid Conservatory. This is a beautiful place, but believe me: taking pictures on an August afternoon there is hard work—for subjects and photographer alike! :-)

Alex & Paul & some Plants

Sunday, August 10th, 2008

I am so blessed that I have all those amazingly nice clients. And every now and then I leave a wedding and think “Gosh, this was awesome!”

Last weekend this happened again, when I got into the car after photographing Alex and Paul’s wedding at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden in Belmont, NC. Not only that the two are a handsome couple but the whole day had this special something. The two were so laid back and also great in front of the camera. Everything was special, even their honeymoon is: they went on a road trip across the USA the same evening!
